 Unification Chapter 24 - The Demise of Howa's Role in Cricket SACOS took a dim view and it’s president, Frank van der Horst, alluded to Howa as a sellout. Howa stood his ground and stated that “They (SACU) can’t get into international cricket without us, but we can’t realistically think of going it alone without them”. Howa also confirmed that Bacher had agreed that no change in sport could be brought about without a political change in the country. On January 18, 1987, Howa lost a vote of no confidence at the WPCB’s monthly meeting as well as his presidency. >>Back to the Top<<
